Release notes also arrive in the morning email, on the day they ship.

Subscription trials and refunds, by week

Trials are now reported as cohorts. Each week’s trial starts are followed until every one of them has ended, then split into converted, kept and renewed. The newest week stays blank until it is complete, so the figure in your email never changes after you have read it.

  • Refunds are counted against the week the trial started, not the week the refund landed.
  • A refund spike is flagged the morning it starts. The default is double your 30-day average; change it under Alerts.
  • Indie and Studio accounts have it now. Solo shows the headline rate only.

Reply to a review from the notification

A low-rating alert now carries a reply box. Long-press the notification, write the reply or pick a saved one, and Ascent posts it to the App Store without the app opening.

This needs a key with the Customer Support role. If yours has only Sales and Reports, the notification says so and links to the two-minute guide for issuing a new one.

Keyword ranks show their usual wobble

Every keyword now draws a faint band around its last 30 days. A move inside the band is ordinary and is left out of the morning email. A move that leaves it is marked, with the nearest release beside it.

In the first week this cut the number of rank lines in the average email from 14 to 3. Nothing was hidden: the full table is one tap away.

Send times for Alaska and Hawaii

The morning email can now be sent at 7:00 AM in Alaska and Hawaii time, alongside Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific. That makes six sends each morning where there used to be four.

Thanks to the eleven developers in Honolulu and Anchorage who had been reading it at 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM and were polite about it.

Fixed

Proceeds no longer count a refund twice

When a purchase and its refund fell on different days, the refund was subtracted on both. Totals for the month were right; the two days were each wrong by the same amount in opposite directions.

Every stored day since January 1 has been recalculated. If a daily figure in an old email differs from the dashboard by a few dollars, this is why, and the dashboard is correct.

Reviews are grouped by version

The reviews inbox used to be one list, newest first. It now opens grouped by the version each review was written against, with a count and an average beside every version.

  • Four reviews under one version that share a word are flagged as a possible bug.
  • Filter to one- and two-star reviews with one tap.
  • The old flat list is still there, under Sort.

CSV export for every report

Any table in Ascent can be exported as CSV, for any date range you have history for. Dates are ISO formatted, amounts are plain numbers in US dollars, and column names do not change between exports.

It is on every plan, including Solo. Your numbers are yours, and leaving should never cost you the history.
